When it comes to holiday decorating, don’t forget your kitchen! There are all sorts of fun ways to add a little holiday cheer to this part of your home. If you looooove to decorate like I do and have a hard time resisting all of the amazing festive decor then I’m sure you’re always looking for new spots to add a little Christmas cheer here and there.
Here are my fave spots to decorate in my kitchen.
Top of cabinets. This is a great spot to start when Christmas glamming your kitchen. Unless your cabinets go all the way to the ceiling with no display area, then the possibilities are endless here. Sleighs, Santas, gnomes, boxes of presents, vases with pine cones and berries, the sky is the limit (or in this case the ceiling is the limit;) so grab a ladder and have at it!
Glass front shelves were meant for holiday displays. “Shelve” what you usually have in these cabinets and fill them up with all of your fave holiday pieces. I can get a little nuts with my decorating enthusiasm so I try to pick themes for each space and stick with them. Right now our kitchen is a little Christmas rustic with lots of pops of bright red. The all white kitchen is a perfect backdrop for the wood tones and pops of holiday color.
Little wreaths are great holiday additions for your kitchen. This year I added them to the tops of my windows and I always have one hanging from my range hood. I love the look of them on the backs of counter stools as well. And don’t forget every gal’s best friend during the holidays…command hooks! These little gems make all sorts of décor possibilities happen.
Holiday flower displays are a must. I love fresh flowers and always have some sort of fresh bouquet in our kitchen. Christmas is a fun time to bring in the reds, greens, pinks and blues. I add a little greenery to add some holiday spice!
Berries, berries, berries! These are such an easy way to bring pops of red to your house and kitchen. Wrap them around lights or throw them in with your normal decor to add that perfect Christmas touch.
There you have it, a kitchen ready for Christmas. Happy decorating! 🎄
