Hello! I’m Amanda, welcome to my blog Belbublly. I’ve started this little space to share my excitement for home design, decor, gardening and so much more. Here’s a bit about me and what’s in store for the blog.

After forgoing an architect and designer on our recent custom-built home, I realized that while my husband and I might be a bit crazy;) I love designing beautiful and functional spaces. Designers and architects are huge assets to any custom build but it is certainly possible to create your dream space on your own.

I have always loved to decorate for the holidays and now that is on overdrive in our new home. We live in South Dakota so winters can get loooong. I’m always sad to see Summer come to an end but gearing up for Halloween and Christmas helps ease that a bit. By the time Spring rolls around, and the garden centers start filling up, my excitement-induced heart palpitations begin and my affinity for gardening propels me into months of flower bliss.

My husband and I have a wonderful, wild almost-8 year old named Tucker who loves joining in and, often times, taking reign over our projects. Whether it’s dominating on the soccer field, spinning cotton candy for his little cotton candy business or baking up something delish, Tuck can do it all! My husband is a hobby baker so the two of them are always creating something wonderful in the kitchen.

We’ve bought and renovated a few spaces in our downtown area and turned one into a bustling little restaurant. We seem to always be in the process of remodeling spaces on the side and love seeing the before and after transformations. We have some exciting projects coming up that I can’t wait to share!

I’m also a homebody who loves to shop, which is great when it comes to home decor but not ideal when it comes to clothes and shoes. Let’s be real, homebodies don’t need fancy clothes and high heeled shoes but that doesn’t mean one needs to completely resist. I love fashion but I’m learning to be more practical when it comes to what I buy vs what I actually wear. All dressed up and nowhere to go, of my own volition, is me in a nutshell but maybe I’ll throw in some fashion here and there.

We live a pretty toxic- free lifestyle, it’s all a balance but healthy living is our go-to most of the time. Keep it simple, keep it natural. In our world it can be challenging to cultivate a healthy lifestyle but I’ve found so many easy ways to reduce our toxic load. I’ve also been fortunate to work with a wonderful functional medicine practitioner over the past decade and have accumulated a wealth of healthy-living knowledge from this experience.

I love animals! We had a pack of four doggies and now we’re down to two. Our fur babies are family and we forever wish their lives could be longer. Our Maltese Lilly is a senior who loves long naps and our rescue Daffy is … well … just simply crazy. He definitely keeps all of us on our toes!

So, in a nutshell, this space will be a bit of everything. Thank you for stopping by. I’m excited to share all of this with you!

Here’s to happy decorating, blissful gardening and a whole lot more!
